The bike used to have a generic cheap muffler installed which got super loud as soon as I opened the throttle. The bike didn't come with the original exhaust so I don't have a basis to compare to that.The bike has a VM36-4 carburator with pod filter installed.The installation was very easy. You'll need to re-use the old muffler bracket (p/n 3HT-14771-00-00) and the bolt that goes on the R/H rear foot peg.The exhaust noise became a lot more smooth but with nice single cylinder pop when the throttle is opened. My old exhaust was giving me quite a bit of decel-pop (after burn) when decelerating, but after installing the GOODS muffler, the decel-pop completely went away! The response feels a bit smoother now. Also, the lower end torque feels stronger.The world seems a bit brighter now, and I have a better outlook on life thanks to this new exhaust! ...at least when I'm riding the bike.View Detail
This is a great exhaust for SR400. Not too loud and it sounds great. I'm sure you could make it louder if you wanted by taking the packing out but I think it's great how it is.View Detail
